The United States Army Reserve has established the Army Reserve Ambassador (ARA) Program to enhance national defense and community involvement. The cornerstone of the Army Reserve outreach and engagement program, the ARA appoints Ambassadors for a three-year term. These special government employees serve without compensation or benefits and provide. Under the title of Department of Army Protocol Precedence List, a corresponding rank to that of a major general, Ambassadors serve as an intermediary force between the Army Reserve and communities from all parts of the country.
First Army, on the other hand, also continues to uphold the finest tradition as the oldest and most historic of the field armies of the United States. A mobilization, readiness, and training command, the First Army, which served in both World Wars and supported the US Army during the wars in Korea and Vietnam, teams with the Army National Guard and the US Army Reserve to ensure that Reserve Component formations meet readiness goals and deliver trained units ready for combat.
Their vision is to be the premier warfighting advisors in providing a lethal Total Force that is ready for combat. Their mission is to partner with the Army National Guard and Army Reserve to enable leaders and deliver trained and ready units for Combatant Commands. It executes large-scale mobilization and reconstitution, on order, to build America’s Army for combat.
The First Army is headquartered at Rock Island Arsenal, IL, where it occupies a 946-acre island in the Mississippi River and is centrally located within the Quad Cities metropolitan area. Division East is located at Fort Knox, KY, with Division West at Fort Hood, TX, and ten geographically dispersed brigades located across the United States. First Army also has operational control of the 85th Army Reserve Support Command, located in Arlington Heights, IL.
The Army Reserve Ambassador Program, along with the First Army’s enduring commitment to readiness and training, gives confidence in the dedication of the United States Army to ensuring a robust, ready force that can defend the nation at a moment’s notice.
